The Senior Companion program connects volunteers 55+ years of age with homebound seniors or disabled adults to serve as friends and companions, making sure they can live in their own homes for as long as possible. Make new relationships and make a significant difference in the lives of others. Help homebound seniors or disabled adults with feelings of loneliness and isolation. The Senior Companion program focuses on providing assistance and friendship to older adults who have difficulty with daily living tasks. Help with such tasks as shopping and transportation to medical appointments. Senior Companions can also provide respite to family caregivers. The Senior Companion program offers a modest hourly stipend to income-eligible volunteers to help offset volunteering costs. Other benefits include training, recognition, mileage reimbursement, and excess liability, and auto insurance.
