Senior Couple Being Served Meal By Carer

Volunteers make a significant difference in the lives of others. The WA-ID Volunteer Center is the primary volunteer connector in our 5-county service area. We promote volunteerism as a whole and connect people of any age with opportunities to serve within our partner nonprofit agencies.

Senior Companions are 55+ years of age and provide assistance and friendship to older adults in their homes. Service may include help with light-duty tasks, transportation to medical appointments or shopping, and companionship to help combat loneliness.

America Reads logo

America Reads - Reading Tutoring

Do you enjoy helping children learn?

The America Reads program places volunteer reading tutors in Lewiston and Clarkston K-3 classrooms to provide one-on-one reading tutoring to students who are reading below grade level. This opportunity requires 1-2 hours per week during school hours. All potential America Reads volunteers will undergo a fingerprint-based criminal history check. No experience is necessary. SHIBA

Medicare Counselor (SHIBA program)

Are you seeking a challenging and fulfilling opportunity?

SHIBA volunteers provide free, unbiased assistance to seniors who need to find the right Medicare coverage to meet their individual needs. You will receive training, ongoing mentoring and education to help you become a successful SHIBA volunteer. No prior insurance experience is required.

You do need to be able to use computer equipment and know how to navigate the internet.
